Wiring with "One Zone"
"One Zone" means the whole house is on a single power supply. This is easier to wire and easier to manage than more zones, but it limits you to 64 light bulbs on a 40 watt transformer, or 96 bulbs on a 60 watt transformer (the maximum that can be run through tapewire). If you expect to install lots of chandeliers, porch lamps, lighted seasonal decorations, fireplaces, etc. then separating the wiring into more zones starting now is a good idea. It takes a little extra material to wire several zones and join them together in the cellar now, and it will let you separate them in the future as you add more lighting.
